This nativity set has a battery-powered (battery is included) flickering votive candle at the rear to make it stand out wherever it is displayed. Since the nativity set is wood, having a real candle burning as a part of it would be a safety hazard.
Base is made of hard maple and it has a circular depression for the candle to fit
The base measures 7 inches wide, 4 ¾” deep and ½” thick
The stable is made from ½” thick walnut and it stands 7 3/8” high above the stand,7 ¾” wide, and ½” thick
The figures are all cut by hand on a scroll saw from ½ inch thick walnut. Mary is 3 ¼” high, 2 ½” wide; Joseph is 4 ¾” high and 2” wide, and the baby Jesus in the manger is 2 1/8” wide and 1 3/8” high
All parts have been finished with a polyurethane coating to bring out the beauty of the wood grain, and to seal this set for many years of enjoyment at the holiday time
