I am calling this a jewelry basket because a box would have a top, and this does not
The basket top and bottom were made from purpleheart, a hard, purple-colored wood
The middle layers are made from maple and cut so they look like a woven basket from the side
The basket is 5 inches long, 4 ¾ inches wide, and ½ inch deep
The basket is finished with polyurethane, to bring out the beauty of the wood grain, and so it will last for many years
This would make a great gift item for your sweetheart
